Reflection 4

In compare and contrast writing we have to write four paragraphs.
In paragraph 1 we have to write which two things we are going to compare and contrast.
In paragraph 2 we have to write three or four similarities e.g the first similarity…… the second similarity is …….. Another similarity is ………. Yet another similarity is ………. In paragraph 3 we wrote the 3 or 4 differences. In conclusion we must write our opinion.

How olive oil is made

Manufacturing olive oil is a long and difficult process but it is simple if you follow these steps carefully and you will produce good quality oil.

First, between September and December, olives are harvested or picked by hand or with sticks and rakes. Then, they are collected on nets beneath the trees. After that, leaves and small stones are removed and the olives are washed to eliminate any remaining impurities before crushing. Then, within the first 24-36 hours of picking the olives are pressed by using granite stones. After that, the paste obtained is layered on nets and then it is put under pressure from a screw or hydraulic press. The liquid produced is collected and put through a centrifugal separator to separate water and impurities from oil. Finally, the olive oil is distributed to the markets.

In conclusion, as you can see making olive oil is a long and complicated process but if you follow these steps you will get good results.

The UAE & Brunei

As we all know, both UAE and Brunei are rich countries, so in this essay I am going to write about the similarities and differences between them.

There are four major similarities between the UAE and Brunei. The first similarity is Islam. Both of them share the same religion which is Islam. The second similarity is airlines. Both countries have national airlines. Another similarity is that both have oil and gas. Both economies depend on oil and gas and this makes them rich countries. Yet another similarity is hereditary monarchies. Both of them have hereditary monarchies as the government system.

Although there are some similarities between the UAE and Brunei, there are also some differences between them. The first difference is geographic location. The UAE is in the Middle East in contrast to Brunei which is in the Far East. The second difference is climate. The UAE only has two seasons summer and winter but Brunei is the same all year round and has a normal season that means they have four season. Another difference is building style. In Brunei they build in thier houses on stilts because they have a lot of rain in contrast to the UAE . Yet another difference is the steering wheel. In the UAE the steering wheels is on the left side but in Brunei the steering wheel is on the right side.

In conclusion, the both countries are safe and beautiful and I hope to visit Brunei in future.

Reflection 3

In process essays we used present passive which means is and are with past participle, e.g . oranges are graded. And the essay structure is similar to procedure. Introduction, main paragraph, conclusion: 25+100+25=150 words. And we used the linking words, the same as procedure: first, secondly, next, after that, finally.

Compare and Contrast between the UAE and KSA

As we all know, both the UAE and the KSA belong to the GCC. Also they have helped each other for a long time. Nowadays, the relationship between them has become closer. In this essay I am going to write about the similarities and differences between them.

There are three major similarities between the UAE and the KSA. The first similarity is language. Both UAE people and KSA people speak Arabic and this makes communication easy. Another similarity is clothes. UAE people and KSA people wear dishdash and gutrah. Yet another similarity is petrol. Both of them depend on petrol as a major income and petrol is a very important part of the in economy

Although there are some similarities between the UAE and the KSA, there are also some differences between them. The first difference is that the UAE has cinemas in our malls but in the KSA they do not have any cinema. Another difference is area. The KSA is bigger than UAE. Yet another difference is currency. The UAE currency is the dirham but the KSA currency is the riyal.

Overall, the differences outweigh the similarities. However, I advise anyone to go to the UAE because they will find anything they want. Also I advise anyone who goes to the KSA to do Omrah and Hajj.

Making Orange Juice

As we all know, orange juice is a very healthy drink, full of vitamin C. Making orange juice is a long process and this is a description of the process of producing high-quality orange juice.

The first stage in making orange juice is the fruit is unloaded from the truck. In this stage the oranges are graded, washed and sized. After that the juice is extracted. Next the waste is sent for use as animal feed. Then the juice is evaporated (high temperature for a short time) and it is concentrated. Then it is stored in refrigerated storage. After that it is canned by machine. After that it is transported from the manufacturer to where it will be sold. Finally, the water is added to the concentrate.

As you can see, making orange juice is an easy process. If you follow the steps described then you will be successful.

In narrative writing we have to write four paragraphs:
In the introduction we used past conrinuous e.g: I was eating my dinner with my friends with something happened
In paragraph 2 we have to describe what we saw e.g: Suddenly, we came across an unbelievable scene.

In conclusion we describe how did we feel?

Reflection 1

I found procedure essays simple because they are mechanichal. Introduction, main paragraph, conclusion: 25+100+25=150 words. Use the imperative: do this, do that, don't do this/that. Avoid the ing form as in the flow charts. No imagination or creativity is needed.

Meeting Day

Last year, I was driving to my workplace and I was in a hurry because I was late. Suddenly, I saw a lady lying down on the side of the street which made me slow down.

As I got closer, I saw that the lady was bleeding from her leg, and I wondered how this accident could be. I walked to her to see if I could do something for her and I asked her if she wanted me to take her to the hospital. So I took her to the hospital and I gave her my phone number if she needed any help and she thanked me. I could not believe my eyes; she was beautiful. After that I remembered my meeting, so I was driving faster.

Finally, when I arrived at my workplace my friends told me “you are very late”. Then I told them what happened to me when I was on the way.

First of all, buy meat, vegetables, spices, rice, tomatoes, salt and dried lemon. While you boil the meat in the water you have to cut and prepare the vegetables and tomatoes. Then remove the fat from the boiling water. After that add salt, spices and vegetables to the meat until tender. Next take out meat and add rice. Then, return the meat to the rice. After that cook for 30 to 40 minutes until ready. Finally serve and eat the delicious meal.

Making butter is a long procedure and you need to follow a lot of steps very carefully. The most successful way to produce high-quality butter is to follow these steps very carefully.

Firstly, check the fresh milk for quality and fat content. Secondly, leave the milk to cool. After that split the cream then churn it. Then drain the buttermilk from the butter. Next, place the butter in a jar. Then, wash the butter with cold water to remove remaining buttermilk. After that add a small amount of salt for flavor. Then cut and wrap the butter. Finally, store the butter in a fridge.

A desert trip

Last summer I was driving with my friend through the desert to Liwa. On the way we were singing and feeling happy. Suddenly we saw something strange on the side of the road which made us slow down.

As we got closer, we saw two cars and one of them was upside down and another car was completely crashed and we wondered how this accident could be. I walked to the cars to see if there were any survivors and it was only one survivor and he was a teenager, so I told my friend to come and help me to pull this teenager, and we did. He could have been killed but he was lucky because the car burst in to flames as we pulled him out. I could not believe my eyes; it was unbelievable. After that I called the police and they arrived with an ambulance. When I saw the police car I told my friend to complete our trip.

On the way I was thinking, how this accident could happen and when I asked my friend he told me maybe the teenager had stolen his father’s car and run away and he was driving fast so he could not control the car and I agreed with my friend.

How to get good grades in an exam ?

The most successful way to get good grades is to study the subject step by step. This is because this way can help us to study very easily for the final exam and to get high grades. In this essay, I will show you the way to get good grades in the exam.

There are many ways to help us to have high marks. Firstly, make a plan from the first day in college because this way helps us to know what we will do in the next days. Secondly, organize your time to study easily. This way helps us to manage our time and divide it to do many things on one day. Then, do more practice after you come back from the college because when we review the lesson step by step, it assists us to keep the information in our minds. After that, if you have something you do not understand, ask your teacher and do not be shy. Finally, after you finish your work, review all things you studied in the College to make sure the information you learn in the College is understood
